Carina and David walked us through how they met, leading them to their wedding at the Italy Isola Bridge in Walt Disney World’s Epcot.

How did you meet?

David and I met in college. We were in the same friend group before we started a “will they won’t they situationship.” David and I would go on a date, and then he would leave back to Puerto Rico for the summer (or winter) break. Finally, we went out (as friends) to a bar where a girl we knew kept trying to ask David to dance. I know this next part will sound like a bad plot for a teen drama but maybe that’s why I fell for it lol. He didn’t like her at all, but he didn’t want to be rude so he told her he was on a date with me. Later, a guy I had gone on a few dates with but wasn’t interested in kept asking me to dance, and David told him we were on a date. We very clearly had feelings for each other but decided to act on them under the rouse of this “fake date” and started officially dating very shortly after. So, in summary, that was a long-winded way of saying we met in college.

When did you know they were the one?

David said at the time of our first kiss (December 2014). 

I say, a weekend trip David and I went on with our friends in September of 2014, this is the first time I remember meeting him.

How did they propose and where? What was your reaction? We want details!!

I, David proposed to Carina one wonderful November evening. I had my suspicions that she knew already, but I still like to think that I got her by surprise. We stayed over at one of our favorite hotels for the weekend in San Antonio and went to a Dias de Los Muertos festival they had in Market Square. I had gotten the help of one of our friends who is a photographer to follow us around for when I pop the question to catch Carina by surprise, and she eventually followed us into a conveniently empty pathway completely decorated with papel picado, as if it was already waiting for us, at that moment I knew that it was all meant to be, and got on my knee to ask her to marry me.

How long have you been together?

Officially since February 2016, but we had our first date in December 2014

David said- her eyes 

Carina said- David’s youthful energy

What are your favorite things to do together?

Go to Disney!

Psych, Phineas and Ferb

What are you most looking forward to on your big day? {Aside from marrying your best friend, of course!}
